Requirements

Technology Requirements
Students are required to meet the technology requirements outlined below in order to qualify for an online course.

Hardware
Students must own or have unlimited access to a personal desktop computer or laptop with the following MINIMUM requirements:

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP or Vista
Processor: 800 MHz (1,5 GHz strongly recommended)
RAM: 512 MB
Hard Drive: 40 MB free space
DVD-ROM or CD-RW/DVD-Rom Combo or DVD+/RW
High speed DSL or cable Internet connection

Software

Microsoft Office: 2003 or 2007 at a minimum. Check with the instructor regarding additional software requirements for the course.

Internet Browser software
- Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher version, Netscape 7.2, Firefox 1.5x or later.

If you have the Student Edition of MS Office and need Access, send an e-mail to Brandon Craig at craigb@nsula.edu. Include your CIS class and UNIVERSITY e-mail in your message. You will be registered in the NSU MSDN website so you can obtain the software key needed to download a copy of Access.

Computer Skill Requirements

Knowledge of common computing terms
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
Proficiency with sending/receiving e-mail, including e-mail with attachments
Proficiency with web browser software
Familiarity with navigating the World Wide Web
